1. Original intent of the Constitution: We believe that the correct interpretation of the Constitution is that of original intent. It only makes sense that we should interpret the Constitution how the state ratification conventions interpreted it. We believe that all powers not expressly delegated to the federal government are state issues, as per the 10th amendment.
2. Elimination of unconstitutional federal intervention: As per the tenth amendment, all powers not specifically delegated to the federal government by the Constitution are reserved to the states, or to the people. We advocate the elimination of all federal programs and departments not specifically authorized by the Constitution. This includes eliminating NASA, the Department of Education, the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the FDA, the Department of Energy, Medicaid, SNAP, and phasing out Social Security and Medicare by way of privatization and ending mandatory payment into Social Security. Those people that have paid into Social Security would get all the benefits they were promised; after that, they will have to rely on private solutions.
3. Gun rights: The Constitution does not enumerate any power of gun control to the federal government. We therefore advocate the repeal of all federal gun control legislation.
5. Tax reform: We advocate the repeal of the federal income tax, corporate income tax, estate tax, inheritance tax, and the 16th amendment itself.
6. Free Enterprise: We believe that the free market is superior to government intervention. Therefore, we would advocate the repeal of most regulations currently imposed on the free market by the government. We oppose any government subsidies to any industries including energy and agriculture. We oppose all barriers to free trade with other nations, which serves only to undermine the interests of the American people as any government restrictions on the free market do. However, the so-called free trade agreements we have now are largely crony capitalist; therefore, we are not uniformly supportive of these agreements.
7. Non-interventionism: The United States should not intervene in the affairs of other countries unless we are specifically threatened. Interventionism and nation-building results in a waste of money, lives, and resources, as well as weakened relations with people across the globe. The rise of terrorism is in part due to hyper-interventionism, as is the skyrocketing national debt. We advocate the withdrawl from all entangling alliances and international organizations that impose on our sovereignty. This includes the withdrawl of the United States from the United Nations and NATO.
8. The enumeration of certain positions in this platform shall not be construed to indicate indifference, support, or lack thereof for any other positions.
9. The right to dissention. There shall be no "litmus test" or single mandatory point of agreement between the Coalition's official platform and a candidate for endorsement. Having a variation of ideas within the Coalition is not an inherently bad thing, though we all should work to convince others of what we believe to be the correct positions. However, a candidate will not be endorsed, or may be disendorsed, if he or she holds too many views in opposition to the views of the Coalition. This is necessary in order to preserve the integrity of the organization.
